We are excited to partner with the Groton Historical Society for their winter open house, part of GrotonFest Winter! We will be making merry in the large parlor in Boutwell House, the Groton History Center.
The house was built in 1851 for George S. Boutwell who was Governor of Massachusetts at the time. He and his family were the only occupants of the house and when his daughter Georgianna passed away in 1933 she left the house to the Groton Historical Society. In honor of Governor Boutwell’s service under Presidents Grant and Lincoln, members of Footwork & Frolick will be sharing social dances popular during the 1850s and 60s. Stop by to say hello and learn more about 19th century Groton!
