Upcoming Partnerships

We love working with other historical organizations. Just as we are passionate about the research and reconstruction of active pursuits (especially dancing), we appreciate getting to learn from others about the particular aspects of the past that they love. As Footwork & Frolick gets up and running, we are emphasizing collaboration with other groups both near and far with missions we support.

We encourage you to check out these organizations, and we hope to see you at their events in the future!

CoC is a non-profit organization focused on promoting the inclusion and belonging of POC in all spheres of costuming. The organization provides historical education, costuming education, history-focused events, educational travel opportunities, and educational historical costuming activities that promote the inclusion and belonging of people of color with a focus on the history of people of color in the pre-21st Century period.

In October 2024, CoC is hosting Salon at Palais-Royal: An 18th-Century Chevalier Experience and we are excited to attend! Lauren (one of our members) is on the dance instruction team for the evening ball.

The Groton History Center was incorporated in 1894 (as the Groton Historical Society) and since then has acquired artifacts, documents and historical memorabilia that are significant to the history and lives of the residents of Groton. Today, in addition to serving the community as a museum the Groton Historical Society holds historical programs which are open to the public and cover a wide range of topics relating to Groton’s history.

This December 2023 members of Footwork & Frolick will be performing dances from the 1850s and 60s at Boutwell House during the GHC holiday open house. This event is free and open to all!
